Tell us a little about you and your partner, what you do,  how did you meet, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
Dylan and I have been together for almost 8 years. We were 17 when we started dating and we are now both 25. We are both from a small country town in NSW and met at a mutual friends birthday party. It was love at first sight.. for Morgan at least haha. We moved to Melbourne 6 years ago and have both found work in Local and State Government as a Landscaper and Project Manager. We are both such home bodies and love being surrounded by our family and cuddling our beautiful little sausage dogs, Daisy and Dodger. We are both goal driven people and love working towards the next thing, whether it be buying our house, planning our wedding or planning an overseas holiday, we both love forward planning. Dylan loves golf, cricket (anything sport really) and is obsessed with his lawn – I could not be more opposite in the sense that I hate sports (watching and playing) and would rather read a good book or watch a good TV show! But besides our different interests and hobbies, we are such a good team and always keep each laughing with our weird sense of humours and playful nature. So important to keep the relationship fun and fresh, especially after 8 years.

Tell us about your special day, how did you choose the location? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We knew we wanted to go back to NSW to get married as all of our family are still there! We both wanted a venue that wasn’t super over the top or fancy, we wanted something that felt really cosy and intimate for our 80 guests. We booked a few venues in the Southern Highlands and the Robertson Public House was the second venue we went to view. As soon as we walked into the reception area, we knew it was exactly what we were searching for. The venue had so much character of its own that we didn’t need to do too much to it, but we chose a few rustic pieces to make it feel like us! The reception room had beautiful wooden beams which was such an amazing feature so we enhanced this with festoon and fairy lights and greenery along the beams. There was also an amazing fire place that we used a feature for lots of greenery and candles. The vibe felt so intimate and cosy and was exactly what we had pictured from the first day we walked in.

Tell us about your wedding dress and any tips you have for future brides….

The dress.. OMG I was obsessed. Before dress hunting, I had a million pictures saved to a Pinterest board of the style of dress I wanted. I knew I wanted something fitted and something with sleeves. When entering Fairytale Bridals in Moonee Ponds, for whatever reason I was choosing dresses that was nothing like the dresses I was saving to my Pinterest board. After trying on a few different dresses and feeling a bit flat about how they looked, my Sister pulled my dress off the rack and handed to me and said “this is the style you love, try it on and see what you think”.. I tried it on and fell in love with it instantly. Its exactly what I wanted. The dress had the most stunning detail at the top and on the sleeves and was so flattering on my body shape. Not only was the stress stunning, it was honestly so comfortable (I heard horror stories about wedding dresses being super uncomfortable) and allowed me to literally get down on the dance floor haha. My biggest tip for searching for your wedding dress would be to find a style that’s going to work with the vibe of your wedding and something that compliments all the parts you love on your body to make feel a million bucks on the day!

What was the most memorable moment from the day?

I think the most memorable part of the day was by far the vows! Dylan and I both wrote our own personal vows and it was honestly the most magical and emotional moment sharing them with each other and our guests on the day. It is honestly something I will cherish forever. Our first dance was also so special and super fun and we loved how al our guests got up and joined us at the end.

Any advice you would like to share with other couples getting married?

Enjoy every second! The day goes by in a flash and it can feel overwhelming, it so important to take a few minutes to take it all in and be present to savour all those special moments. Also, don’t sweat the small stuff. Wedding planning can be super stressful and things will go wrong, brush it off and move on because I promise no on one else will notice and in the end you’ll be having such a magical day/night that a little ishap is no big deal.
